Our plant located in Sterling Heights, MI is looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Plant Quality Engineer to join our team!
The role of the Plant Quality Engineer is responsible for all issues with regards the quality process, health & safety and environment at the plant location.
What you'll do
- Liaise with production on quality issues
- Monitor health, safety & environment compliance
- Ensure adherence to national legislation
- Perform process audits (Supplier & SAS)
- Develop risk management strategies
- Report & analyze quality issues; identify root causes
- Deliver quality-related training sessions
- Maintain safe systems of work
- Lead/substitute Quality Technicians
- Define & manage quality planning & documentation
- Create internal audit schedule for JIS facility
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Plan, manage, and realize related equipment
- Coordinate initial sampling (components/modules)
- Authorize production block & release
- Analyze warranty claims & global system performance
- Track non-conformance & customer claims (official/unofficial)
- Apply 8D problem-solving methodology
- Conduct process capability audits & part evaluations

What we are looking for
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the automotive industry
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position
- FMEA & SPC expertise
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO/TS, IATF 16949, and VDA 6.1 standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and methodologies
- Product and process knowledge
- Experience leading work teams (or readiness for first-time leadership)
- Fluent in English
