Motherson is looking for a Kettering University Engineering co-op for our Sterling Heights, MI location. This Engineering co-op will support the engineering team in collaboration with other departments of the facility, including Operations, Logistics, and Quality. The intern will support with the completion of engineering deliverables as defined by the manager and the team.

Was Sie leisten

  • Assist in process improvements and support new product launches in a real-world manufacturing environment.
  • Learn and apply basic industrial engineering principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
  • Follow up on open PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) tasks.
  • Assist with Design of Experiments (DoE) analysis.
  • Gain exposure to automation and Industry 4.0 concepts by identifying opportunities for digitization in production.
  • Assist in the design and deployment of automated systems, including writing basic specifications and documentation.
  • Work with experienced engineers to analyze manufacturing processes and suggest continuous improvement ideas.
  • Participate in testing and validation of new processes and equipment modifications.
  • Learn to use industrial tools and software to analyze production data and identify trends.

Was wir suchen

  • Pursuing a degree in industrial, electrical, or mechanical engineering at Kettering University.
  • Freshman or Sophomore status.
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficient level of English.
