Our plant located in Newark, CA is looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team!
The role of the Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer (SQA) is to manage the quality improvement of purchased parts during serial life and the day-to-day supplier relationship for the Sterling Heights plant.
What you'll do
- Maintain PPAP files, perform requalification, and R&R audits.
- Manage defect catalog and boundary sample evolution.
- Request initial samples and documents from suppliers; validate and approve components.
- Coordinate function build events and manage supplier ECRs in serial life.
- Define, set up, and supervise incoming inspection instructions and planning.
- Obtain conformity certificates and maintain supplier QMS evidence per OEM/MSAS requirements.
- Implement temporary quality walls; issue and manage quality claims (8D).
- Follow up on supplier action plans, audits, and corrective actions.
- Manage blocked/NOK parts, nonconformance, RMAs, and jail stock.
- Handle supplier charge-backs, KPIs, escalation letters, and recovery.

What we are looking for
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in Automotive quality.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949, Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC), VDA standards
- Familiar with CSR, GD&T, gage, APQP/PPAP projects, QA file follow-up
- Skilled in SPC, MSA, statistical methods, control plans, convergence plans
- Problem-solving (8D, QRCI), 8 QB in production
- Experience with audits, debit alerts, and supplier scorecards
