This position replacement for Peter Varghese - Deputy Manager Tool Maintenance
What you'll do
- Supervise daily tool room activities including tool repair, sharpening, calibration, and storage.
- Ensure proper documentation of tool usage, maintenance schedules, and inventory control.
- Implement 5S and lean practices in the tool room.
- Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for tools and dies.
- Troubleshoot breakdowns and coordinate quick corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Monitor tool performance and recommend improvements for durability and efficiency
- Lead and mentor tool room technicians and operators and conduct skill development training for the team on tool handling, safety, and maintenance best practices.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve tool-related issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce tool wear, maintenance costs, and downtime.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and statutory requirements in tool room operations, maintain ISO/TS documentation and compliance for audits & Promote a culture of safety and quality.

What we are looking for
- Diploma/Degree in Tool and Die Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 8–12 years in tool room maintenance, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Knowledge of Tool maintenance, and machining processes, familiarity with CAD/CAM software and ERP systems & effective communication and coordination with cross-functional teams.
