A results-driven Deputy Manager – Design (Engineering) with a B. Tech degree and 14 years of post-qualification experience in the automotive industry, specializing in vehicle component design, product development, and engineering process optimization. Skilled in managing cross-functional design teams, implementing innovative engineering solutions, and ensuring compliance with global automotive standards.

What you'll do

  1. Review and Preparation of 3D, 2D, and Assembly Drawings
  2. Prepare and review 3D plastic part designs, ensuring accuracy in 2D child part drawings.
  3. Create and validate assembly drawings with precise annotations, ensuring compliance with design intent and engineering standards.
  4. A-Class Surface Analysis & Concept Development
  5. Conduct concept design based on customer-provided surfaces.
  6. Perform feasibility studies on styling data using CATIA V5, ensuring manufacturability and structural integrity.
  7. Tooling Feasibility of Components
  8. Review and perform draft analysis of plastic parts to assess tooling feasibility.
  9. Evaluate core/cavity ejection concepts, as well as lifter and slider feasibility, before design release for manufacturing.
  10. Plastic Raw Material Expertise
  11. Study and recommend engineering-grade plastic raw materials suitable for automotive applications considering durability, weight optimization, and cost-effectiveness.
  12. GD&T and Product Drawing Standards
  13. Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure precision in design and manufacturing.
  14. Interpret and generate product drawings as per customer requirements and specifications.
  15. Expert in CATIA V5 for 3D/2D CAD design, A-Class surface modeling, and master sections.
  16. Experienced in PLM systems such as Teamcenter for design management.
  17. Strong understanding of DFMEA methodologies and application.
  18. Knowledgeable in testing and validation processes for automotive components.
  19. Competent in FEA and Mold Flow Report interpretation to guide design improvements.
  20. Proficient in tooling concepts, including slider and lifter feasibility studies.
