Skilled in managing cross-functional design teams, implementing innovative engineering solutions, and ensuring compliance with global automotive standards.
What you'll do
- Review and Preparation of 3D, 2D, and Assembly Drawings
- Prepare and review 3D plastic part designs, ensuring accuracy in 2D child part drawings.
- Create and validate assembly drawings with precise annotations, ensuring compliance with design intent and engineering standards.
- A-Class Surface Analysis & Concept Development
- Conduct concept design based on customer-provided surfaces.
- Perform feasibility studies on styling data using CATIA V5, ensuring manufacturability and structural integrity.
- Tooling Feasibility of Components
- Review and perform draft analysis of plastic parts to assess tooling feasibility.
- Evaluate core/cavity ejection concepts, as well as lifter and slider feasibility, before design release for manufacturing.
- Plastic Raw Material Expertise
- Study and recommend engineering-grade plastic raw materials suitable for automotive applications considering durability, weight optimization, and cost-effectiveness.
- GD&T and Product Drawing Standards
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure precision in design and manufacturing.
- Interpret and generate product drawings as per customer requirements and specifications.
- Expert in CATIA V5 for 3D/2D CAD design, A-Class surface modeling, and master sections.
- Experienced in PLM systems such as Teamcenter for design management.
- Strong understanding of DFMEA methodologies and application.
- Knowledgeable in testing and validation processes for automotive components.
- Competent in FEA and Mold Flow Report interpretation to guide design improvements.
- Proficient in tooling concepts, including slider and lifter feasibility studies.
